We are planning on making recordings of the talks available after the event.
Confidently connecting in a post-Christian age
Glen Scrivener
For Christians, confidence is often in short supply. We can feel like we are out of step with culture and “on the wrong side of history.” But look closer and we can readily see that Christianity is not history — it makes history. Even the objections our friends might have to Christian faith assume remarkably Christian values. What is more, the values and loves our friends hold dear have also been shaped by the Jesus Revolution (aka Christianity). In this session we will think about the way evangelism looks different in a post-Christian age and how our cultural moment can actually be an evangelistic opportunity.
Confidently sharing God's Word so people meet Jesus
Christine Armstrong
The Bible is where we see Jesus most clearly. As Christians we can rely on the power of God's Spirit working through His Word to reveal Jesus to others. The idea of opening the Bible with an unbeliever can be daunting, but it doesn't have to be. Resources like The Word One to One help us offer our friends an enjoyable and straightforward experience. This practical seminar will encourage you as you hear from everyday Christians who have become Bible sharers. You will be equipped with tips and principles so that you too can share God's Word with those around you.
Confidently sharing Jesus in everyday conversation
Nate Morgan Locke
“What did you think about the Barbie movie?” “Did you see Messi’s goal last night?” “Have you heard the latest Taylor Swift album?” We regularly have great conversations with our friends about music, sport, films, television and technology, so why can we find it so awkward to talk about our faith? In this seminar we will discuss how pop culture actually gives us brilliant opportunities to share the gospel and see how, as Christians, we can be confident to talk about Jesus whatever other activities we enjoy.
